Rolled Oat Porridge with Berries

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup traditional rolled oats

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 serve Metagenics vanilla protein powder (0g sugar)

  • 1 cup berries



Method
  1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.

  2. Add oats and protein powder, reduce heat to medium, and let cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until desired consistency.

  3. When the oatmeal finishes cooking, stir in berries and/or other fresh fruit.

Suggestions
  • Add more water or almond milk to the consistency you like.

  • Top with any fresh fruit you like e.g. sliced banana, kiwi or other seasonal fruit.

  • Add in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds for additional fibre.



Notes
  1. Metagenics protein powder is the practitioner-range product that is used to help increase the nutritional value of the smoothie without adding sugar. It may also help improve the texture and taste of the porridge. With the extra fibre, it also helps increase the sense of fullness that will keep you fuller for up to 3-4 hours.

  2. You may replace protein powder with 1 tablespoon of almond butter for additional protein.
