Low Sugar High Protein Chocolate Berry Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 serve Metagenics chocolate protein powder (0g sugar)

  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 medium banana (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 cup almond milk unsweetened or water (0g sugar)

  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 Tbsp rolled oats (optional)

  • Handful of spinach (optional)

  • 6-8 ice cubes (or more)


Method

Blend all together into smooth ice cream consistency and serve immediately.


Suggestions

  • Top some fresh berries or other fresh fruit before serving.

  • Blend up some extra servings and keep in the freezer for your next treat.

  • If If you have no time to make fresh in the morning, make the smoothie the night before, transfer into a glass mason jar and keep it in the fridge.

  • You may consider make extra serving to save you time as it can be safely kept in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.



Notes
  • Metagenics protein powder is the practitioner-range product that is used to help increase the nutritional value of the smoothie without adding sugar. It may also help improve the texture and taste of the smoothie. With the extra fibre, it also helps increase the sense of fullness that will keep you fuller for at least 4 hours or longer.


  • You may omit protein powder in this recipe or replace Metagenics protein powder with another brand if preferred. Please keep in mind that protein powders (with different brands) have different nutritional values, and often time contain high sugar and may not be suitable for smoothie recipes.
